

David Edward Brownlow passed away Saturday November 21, 2015, at the age of 81. David was born on December 15, 1933 to James A. Brownlow and Fleda Cockerell Brownlow of Waco, Texas. He was one of five children. At the age of 19, David joined the U.S. Army and was sent to Ft. Bliss for basic training, where he met the love of his life and wife of 62 years, Oralia Brownlow. He faithfully served his country for 3 years in the transportation squadron during which, he was assigned to one tour in France. Upon his return, David joined the El Paso Fire Department where he worked for 31 years, and retired as a District Chief. He was a devoted leader and was highly respected by the El Paso Firefighter community.
David is preceded in death by two brothers, one sister, and grandson, Mason. He is survived by his wife Oralia Brownlow, brother, Calvin Brownlow (Margaret), and four sons: David (Judy), Michael (Laura), Victor (Caroline), and Brian (Angie). He is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 from 5 -9 pm at Martin Funeral Home West Chapel with the Rosary service at 7 pm. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 10:00 am at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson El Paso, Texas.
