David E. Smith was born July 30, 1940, in Dayton, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, retired after 22 years of service and later retired as Director of Maintenance for Holloman Air Force base. In between, he made life-long friendships as an apartment Maintenance Manager for years.
He was married to Maggie Smith and is preceded in death by his son, Dave and his daughter, Bev, brothers Bob and Jimmy and parents, James and Martha Smith.
He passed away on May 30, 2025, at the age of 84, and is survived by his wife, stepsons, sisters, nephews, nieces, and grandchildren. He was well-respected, loved and will be missed by his family and friends.
