Lola Vega, born April 16, 1931 in El Paso, Texas was called home by the Lord to be with her honey, Roberto Sr. on June 1, 2018. She was an amazing woman who graduated from UTEP, was a UTEP Golddigger, a Corporal in the Army Reserves, and taught for 32 years. She was filled with such an infectious joy and felt it was her privilege to share it with everyone around her and she passed on her passion of living life to the fullest with all who entered her classroom. She had a constant song on her lips and shared it with everyone, including the nursing home where she sang every Tuesday. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with her whole heart and she was very proud of all of her family’s accomplishments. She is an example of how we should live our lives. She lived the life she wanted and left on her own terms. A mí manera!
She’s survived by her brother Jose Acosta, sisters Louisa Gutierrez, Virginia Bejarano, and Yolanda Moreno; her sons Roberto Jr. (Pat) and Michael (Kristel); 4 grandchildren Bonnie Miranda (Carlos), Robert III (Maricela), Victoria and Logan; 5 great-grandchildren, Anthony, Katalina, Carlos Jr., Gabriella, and Hazel.
Lita your mission has been fulfilled and the reason God put you on this earth will continue in heaven. Sing with the mariachis, dance with your honey and laugh with your family and friends as you wait for all of us to be reunited once again. God bless you and we love you!
