Espi was preceded in death by her husband, Luis A. Fernandez who was decorated for his service in the Army in World War II, which included seeing combat at D-Day and other battlefields. She worked for and retired from Providence Hospital after more than twenty five years. She was a very hard worker all her life.
Espi is survived by three of her four children Josefina, Ignacio and Ruben. Ramon L. Fernandez preceded her in 2017.
Espi was beloved by over 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren and many many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Visitation will be held at Hillcrest Funeral Home 1060 N. Carolina Drive, El Paso, Texas on January 12, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Holy Rosary is at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be held on January 13, 2022 at 12:30 p.m. San Antonio de Padua, 503 Hunter Drive, El Paso, Texas.
Burial will be held after mass at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, Texas.
