Esperanza B. Triviz passed away suddenly, and unexpectedly on Saturday March 21, 2026, during her 94th birthday celebration. She was at her favorite restaurant, seated between her son and daughter having her favorite meal and beverage. Born on March 21, 1932, in El Paso, TX, she was the fourth of six children to Juan Guzman Bustamante and Manuela Salazar Bustamante. Esperanza graduated from Bowie High School in 1951. Her daughter Josefina is from her first marriage. In 1967, while working for AAFES at White Sands Missile Range she met her future husband CW4 Rudolph Joseph Triviz. The two were married in July 1968 in Las Vegas, NV, and that is when the adventure as an Army Wife began. Faithfully supporting her husband’s military career, especially when that required him to be away from the family, she stopped working to focus on the family. Esperanza was a devoted and dedicated wife and mother. She was active with the PTA throughout their children’s education; she was highly active with the Fort Bliss Officer’s wives club. Esperanza derived much joy fund raising for those less fortunate and worthy causes; consistently devoting time to many charities. Esperanza was predeceased by her husband Rudolph Joseph Triviz, by both her parents and her siblings: Juan Antonio Bustamante, Manual Bustamante, Lucia B. Medina, and Juana B. Gomez. She is survived by her daughter Josefina C. Reyes (Manuel), and son Mark Patrick Triviz; her grandchildren: Camilla Nicole Chavando, Felicia Renee Chavando, and Joseph Elias Reyes; her sister Lorenza B. Telles, and ten nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Arthur Joseph Telles Jr., Jacob Paul Telles, James Edward Bustamante, David Herrera, Joseph Elias Reyes, and Mark Patrick Triviz. A Visitation will be held at Martin Funeral Home West on Monday April 6, 2026, between 4:00PM and 8:00PM, with the recitation of the Most Holy Rosary at 6:00PM. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Tuesday April 7, 2026, at 9:30AM with interment to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery at 11:00AM.
