She is survived by her mother Hortencia Valenzuela and her son Jesus R. Meraz (Jessie)
She was born on April 11, 1957. She was a graduate from Bel Air High School. Her childhood in El Paso, Texas instilled a lifelong passion for the medical field. She attended college and let her to work in several hospitals and clinics for 30 years.
She leaves behind three sisters, Elena Saenz (Frankie), Irene Meza (Javier Alberto+), Martha Hernandez (Juan Carlos). One Brother Miguel Valenzuela Jr. (Cecilia), one sister-in-law Norma Valenzuela (Gilberto P.), one goddaughter Michelle Valenzuela, four grandchildren Jesus Meraz Jr., Alexander Meraz Jr., Jonathan and Jesse Meraz. As well as two great grandchildren Alexander Meraz III and Houston Meraz. She had several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephew and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Miguel V. Valenzuela, her son Alexander Meraz and her brother Gilberto P. Valenzuela.
She will be deeply missed by her loving family and all who know her.
A visitation for Evangelina will be held Friday, May 19, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Crestview Funeral Home, 1462 North Zaragoza Rd., El Paso, Texas 79936. A funeral service will occur Friday, May 19, 2023 at 11:00 AM, 1462 North Zaragoza Rd., El Paso, Texas 79936. A graveside service will occur Friday, May 19, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 401 S Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, Texas 79907.
