Fidel I. Olivas, 102 passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 30, 2024, in El Paso, Texas. He was born in Emporia, Kansas, but remained a long-time resident of El Paso till his passing. He is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Maria De Jesus Olivas, parents Leonardo and Catalina Oliva; brothers Roman, Rodolfo, and Roberto Oliva, sister Maria Puentes; sons Rodolfo, Rudy, and Jesus Olivas; daughters Rosa Ortiz, Guadalupe Olivas, and Angelina Reyes. He is survived by his daughters Emma (Eddie) Gresky, and Mary Lou (Ramon) Ramirez: his sons, Lorenzo (Yolanda) Olivas, Fidel Olivas Jr, David (Lori) Olivas, Daniel Olivas, and Dickie (Diane) Olivas; 33 Grandchildren, 66 Great grandchildren, and 16 Great Great grandchildren.
Mr. Olivas will lie in state on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. with a rosary at 3:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home East Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m.
Pallbearers: Esteban Olivas, Lorenzo Olivas, Jr., Michael Olivas, Raymond Ramirez, David Olivas, Jr., Ricardo Olivas, and Larry Olivas. Interment will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Services entrusted to Martin Funeral Home East, 1460 George Dieter Dr., El Paso, Texas 79936 (915)855-8881.
