Georgette Amat passed away on November 20, 2021 at her home with family members by her bedside as she took her last breath. She was born on December 27, 1926 in Oran, Algeria — daughter of Marcel Amat and Flora Bueno. She was married to Harvey Bransford in Oran, who was attached to the 36th Texas
Division during WWII. They met at a dance in Oran where she was chaperoned by her mother. They were married on June 6, 1944, and she arrived in the United States on February 25,1946 in Charleston. S.C. From there she and her husband took a train to El Paso, Texas where she made her home for 75 years.
While raising 6 children, she was employed at Rocky Mountain Banknote Company in the bindery and later as co-owner of Quality Graphics. She was predeceased by her daughter Marie Therese Maxwell, March 5, 2005. She is survived by her sister Marcelle and husband Jacques Tayon, Frejus, France; daughter Arlette (Bransford) and Charles Livingston, Everett, Washington; son Robert and Patricia Bransford, El Paso, Texas; son Jefferson and Julie Bransford, Arlington, Mass. son Richard and Maria Bransford, El Paso Texas and son Alain and Kayoko Bransford, Santa Monica,
California.
She is also survived by her grandchildren Michele Jackson, George Rios, WIIliam and Shannon Livingston, Charlette (Livingston) and Jason Ogawa, Christine (Bransford) and Faisal Akbari, Adam Bransford, Wesley and Jenell Bransford, Christopher and Natasha Bransford, Lauren (Bransford) and Noah Clevenger, Jillian Bransford, Elizabeth Bransford and Madeline Bransford.
Also surviving her are great-grandchildren Blake Jackson, Andre Livingston, Dominick McCallum, William Ogawa, Akira Ogawa, Sophia Akbari, Jackson Bransford, Adelynn Bransford, Jace Bransford, Kate Bransford, Ellie Bransford and Matthew Bransford.
