Guadalupe Sanchez Reynoso was born on December 12, 1924, in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico. He passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 25, 2026, surrounded by the love and care of his wife and family, in their humble home in Socorro, Texas.

Guadalupe’s life was a living testament to hard work, perseverance, and unwavering devotion to family. In 1952, he met the love of his life, Julia Serrano, whom he married in 1953. Their union became the foundation of a lifetime marked by love, commitment, and shared sacrifice.

In early 1957, determined to provide a better life for his growing family, Guadalupe accepted a position at Peyton’s Packing Company in El Paso, Texas, where he worked in the meat-packing department. This opportunity led the family to move to the United States and purchase a home in the El Chamizal neighborhood of El Paso. There, Guadalupe and Julia began building a future together with their four eldest children. The arrival of their next three children further enriched their lives, firmly rooting the values of family unity, love, resilience, and faith at the center of their home.

For decades, Guadalupe exemplified dedication, reliability, and an industrious spirit through honest labor. He instilled in his children the virtues of perseverance, integrity, compassion, humility, and respect for others.

Beyond his work ethic, Guadalupe was a man of remarkable talents and intellect. He possessed a beautiful, powerful tenor voice and often shared his love of music by singing to his family, inspiring some of his descendants to do the same. He also had a deep appreciation for literature and traditional poetry, which he recited from memory with pride and joy. His aptitude for learning, history, and politics was extraordinary, and he delighted in sharing his vast knowledge of historical, political, and geographical trivia with his family. His memory was exceptional, and his conversations were rich with insight and wisdom.

Guadalupe’s life story reflects the immigrant experience—one defined by courage, sacrifice, determination, and hope. From the bustling streets of Ciudad Juárez to the demanding labor of El Paso, his journey mirrored that of countless individuals who sought opportunity through faith and perseverance. Despite the challenges he faced, Guadalupe remained cordial, generous, and kind to everyone he met. He never spoke ill of others, honored his vows to his wife and children, respected his fellow man, and carried a heart of gold throughout his life.

As his family reflects on his life, they are reminded that true wealth is not found in possessions, but in the love of family, the dignity of work, and the bravery against challenges. Guadalupe leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire generations.

Guadalupe is survived by his beloved wife, Julia Serrano; their seven children and their spouses: Mary Sanchez (Mike Maser), Guillermo Sanchez (Kimberly O’Dore), Nicolas Sanchez (Marcela Taylor), Carlos Sanchez (Judith Reyes), Adolfo Sanchez (Sarilu Sosa), German Sanchez (Melody Hutchins), and Daniel Sanchez (Gigi Robinson); thirty-three grandchildren; ninety-five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his siblings: Maria Luz (Sanchez) Martinez, Manuel Sanchez, and Alfredo Sanchez (Graciela Villegas).

Guadalupe was preceded in death by his parents, Florentino Sanchez and Maria San Juana Reynoso; his brothers Enrique, Jose Enrique, Rafael, and Jose (Pili); and his sisters Lucila, Margarita, and Maria Elena.

Funeral services were held at Hillcrest Funeral Homes in El Paso, Texas. Following the service, his remains were laid to rest at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in El Paso, Texas.

Aparte de su ética de trabajo, Guadalupe fué un hombre de talentos e intelecto notables. Poseía una hermosa y potente voz de tenor y a menudo compartía su amor por la música cantando para su familia, inspirando a algunos de sus descendientes a hacer lo mismo. También tenía un profundo aprecio por la literatura y la poesía tradicional, que recitaba de memoria con orgullo y alegría. Su aptitud para el aprendizaje, la historia y la política era extraordinaria, y disfrutaba compartiendo su vasto conocimiento de datos históricos, políticos y geográficos con su familia. Su memoria era excepcional y sus conversaciones estaban llenas de perspicacia y sabiduría.

Le sobreviven su amada esposa, Julia Serrano; sus siete hijos y sus cónyuges: Mary Sanchez (Mike Maser), Guillermo Sanchez (Kimberly O’Dore), Nicolas Sanchez (Marcela Taylor), Carlos Sanchez (Judith Reyes), Adolfo Sanchez (Sarilu Sosa), German Sanchez (Melody Hutchins) y Daniel Sanchez (Gigi Robinson); treinta y tres nietos; noventa y cinco bisnietos; y tres tataranietos.

También le sobreviven sus hermanos: Maria Luz (Sanchez) Martinez, Manuel Sanchez y Alfredo Sanchez (Graciela Villegas).

A Guadalupe le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, Florentino Sanchez y Maria San Juana Reynoso; sus hermanos Enrique, Jose Enrique, Rafael y Jose (Pili); y sus hermanas Lucila, Margarita y Maria Elena.

Los servicios funerarios se llevaron a cabo en Hillcrest Funeral Homes en El Paso, Texas. Posteriormente, sus restos fueron sepultados en el cementerio Mt. Carmel en El Paso, Texas.
