

Isabel Ortega, 88, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025. Born in El Paso, Texas, she was the beloved daughter of Jose Maria Jordan and Luz De La O. Isabel was the youngest of six children, with two brothers and three sisters, all of whom have preceded her in death. She carried their memory with her throughout her life.
Isabel was also preceded in death by her husband, Ernesto Ortega, with whom she shared a lifetime of love until his passing on October 25, 2019. She is survived by her four children, who were the pride of her life: Alfredo (Norma), Rene (Rose), Sandra Serrano (Fernando), and Richard (Lori). She is also survived by her ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy.
A devoted homemaker, Isabel filled her home with warmth, laughter, and the unforgettable aroma of her famous enchiladas and chocolate chip cookies. She embraced life with humor and a generous spirit, always ready to help whenever someone needed her. Her presence lit up every room, and her love was a steady anchor for her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
Visitation will be held at Hillcrest Funeral Home on January 12, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a rosary at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will take place at Cristo Rey on January 13, 2026, at 12:00 PM, followed by a graveside service at Fort Bliss Cemetery, where Isabel will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Ernesto.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Mary and David Vargas, who lovingly cared for Isabel during the last five years of her life. Their kindness and dedication will always be remembered with deep appreciation.
Isabel leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who cherished her.
