Jan Robertson Britton, 63, was called home to our Lord on Saturday, March 11, 2017. Jan will forever be remembered as the most kind-hearted, loving, and giving daughter, mother, and sister. She would genuinely give the shirt off her back to anyone who needed it. Jan was born on February 4, 1954 in Fort Worth, Texas and moved to El Paso, Texas as a young girl where she became a very accomplished business woman. Jan served as the Administrative Director of Risk Management at both Del Sol and Las Palmas Medical Centers for many years. Jan’s personality never let her meet a stranger and she cherished the many great friends she made during her career. Jan was a two-time breast cancer survivor in recovery for over 6 years. Jan’s strength and determination in fighting this disease left a lasting admiration by all those who had the pleasure of meeting her. As she continued her fight but began to face additional serious medical diagnoses in 2013, Jan moved to Nashville to be closer to her daughter, Trish and son-in-law, Nathan. If you knew Jan, you knew that the light of her life was her daughter. No mother could love a child any more than Jan loved Trish. It meant the world for her to be near Trish in her last few years. Along with being a wonderful business woman, and the love for her friends and family, she also had a great love for horses, and her sweet puppy, Shelby. She was always making that poor dog pose with multiple Milk Bones balanced on her nose and head, anxiously waiting to eat them, and then posting pictures of it to Facebook thinking it was hilarious. She is survived by: her daughter, Trish (Nathan) Bowen, her brother, Snow Robertson, and Jimmie Britton Jr., her ex-husband and friend. Also survived by her two nieces, Sarah (Joseph) Seagrove and Heather Britton, her nephew, Chase Robertson, all of whom she loved dearly. While there are too many great friends to name, we would like you all to know that she felt blessed to know each and every one of you.
Mommie – I will always remember the way you held me and never missed a chance to tell me how much you loved me. I would give anything to have more time with you on this earth, but I know that you are looking over me every second of every day. I will miss your many, many calls just to check on me and tell me you love me, even though it drove me in insane. I would take a million of those calls today. I will always miss you. I love you. – Your dearest darling, Trish.
There will be a Celebration of Life ceremony at Martin Funeral Home East on Friday, March 31, 2017 from 3pm-5pm. Service entrusted to F.D.A. Martin East, www.funerariasdelangel.com/martin-east
