

Jane was born December 20, 1935, in Waterville, Maine to Galen F. Sweet and Ann Choate Sweet. She was a graduate of Waterville High School, where she was All-New England Clarinet, and the University of Maine (1957), with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education. Jane married the love of her life, Lester C. Fogg, in 1957. They were happily married for 55 years until his death in 2012. They had two sons, John in 1958 and David in 1961.
Les and Jane moved from Maine to El Paso, Texas in 1957 as Les started on his career in the Army. Jane started teaching at Travis Elementary School, but soon left there to pursue life as an Army wife and their service took them to places around the country and world. Jane enjoyed participating in the many Army activities and groups supporting military life. Their experiences brought them many life-time friends.
Upon Les’s retirement from the Army in 1976 in El Paso, Jane started as a long-term substitute teacher at Eastwood High School. She made many friends with the staff and student population. Les and Jane also enjoyed their frequent trips to Las Vegas and attending various sporting events.
Jane is preceded in death by her husband Les, her parents, brother Richard Sweet and sister Barbara Ann Sweet. She leaves behind son John, daughter-in-law Shavonne, grandson Stephen, and son David and daughter-in-law Mindy and several nephews and nieces.
Jane’s funeral service will be held Saturday, July 15 at 10 AM at Martin Funeral Home East, 1460 George Dieter, El Paso, TX. A time of visitation with family members will immediately follow. Jane will be buried at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with her husband, Les. The family would like to thank the staff at Legacy at Cimarron and Green Mountain Palliative Care for their excellent care of Jane during this time. Memorial donations may be made to the Legacy at Cimarron Employee Holiday Fund or to Samaritan's Purse.
