To the Schneider family:  Joan was my first cousin.  Though I never really knew her, I've always heard my parents talk about her.  I'm sure I got a chance to meet her a few times, but there was quite an age difference so I never really got to know her.  From everything I've heard she was a great person.  Cherish the many years you had to know and be loved by such a wonderful person.  You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
