Joe was my brother-in-law,  my Compadre, and most importantly,  my "Buddy".  We used to play football with the old gang, and he was actually pretty good.  Turns out that Joe was in the fifth grade with my wife at Zavala.  She remembers he was always getting in trouble with their mean, old teacher.  My wife and I were honored to be the Best Man and Matron of Honor at Joe's and Gracie's wedding.   They came to visit us in Washington.   We went on a whale watching trip to the San Juan Islands .  We saw pods of whales.  The most anyone had ever seen.  Joe said it was because they all came out to see him.   The next time they came to visit, we went to Victoria, Canada.  Joe was very friendly and well liked.  He would stop and talk to strangers.  He kept people rolling in laughter because he could find humor in everything.   He had a big toothy grin, and the most contagious laughter.   He touched many people's lives and will be missed very much.  Rest in peace, Buddy.    Godspeed.

Mr. Cerecerez was such a fun and caring educator. He always wore a smile and his students enjoyed his classes. I missed him after his retirement, and I will never forget him.

I was lucky enough to be in one of Mr. C’a 5th grade classes at Mesa Vista. There’s a handful of teachers I truly appreciate because they cared so much and Mr. Cerecerez was definitely one of them. May he Rest In Peace, Power and Grace. May his family find peace and comfort during these times. 

Joe and I taught at Capistrano Elementary for several years. He was a great teacher and coach. He married my cousin, Gracie and they lived next door to me.                                                           Joe joins the other Capistrano teacher angels that were in heaven waiting for him. Save a place for me, Joe!                                                                      Joe was a fine man, teacher and friend.

May our uncle RIP.  He was a good teacher to his students and a good brother to his sibling, my father, Manuel A. Cerecerez.  On behalf of our family (his nieces & nephews and their children), our condolences to the family:

Sister Grace, May God's love and care comfort you every day!  I remember the day when Joe ask you to marry him.  You both were so happy.  Your wedding was superb in Lass Vegas!  Every time we went to visit, Joe would keep us entertain with interesting stories.  He would fix us burritos for the road to eat.  Not only was Joe our brother-in-law but also our compadre.   
I'm Horst, his brother-in-law and compadre, when ever we were around together he was quite a talkative man. He told me his story how he grew up in El Paso, not a easy time and asked me how I grew up and I told him my story how I grew up in Berlin Germany after WWII, not a easy time either. Those conversations brought us closer and understand each other better.
Joe, our thoughts will stay connected.

Joe was a kind hearted, funny man.  He was always the jokester with his laugh to follow.  
I will  remember his laugh.  
He loved my mom very much and for that I am forever grateful to him. 
He was good to me and I will miss him very much.
Heaven gained another comedian.

I’m so sorry for your loss auntie Grace, I want to thank you for inviting us to your wedding, I can still see uncle’s face and how happy he was,  and what a huge smile he would have anytime he would look at you. He will be missed , but I feel in my heart he will miss  you..

My favorite memories with Joe are when I was little and I had convinced Joe that my mother let me eat chicken nuggets for breakfast. It didn’t take a lot of convincing to get Joe to take me out for McDonald’s chicken nuggets because I think we both had a love for eating out at McDonald’s. All my memories of Joe are full of jokes and laughter. I find comfort in knowing that he is making all the other angels in heaven laugh.
