El Paso- Josefa Navarro Macias, age 89, died after a prolonged battle with Parkinson’s disease on May 7, 2021, in El Paso, TX. She joined her late husband in heaven, Lorenzo F. Macias.
She was preceded in death by her Father, Jose Maria Navarro, and her mother Angela De La O, siblings, Arnulfo, Pedro and Nacha
Josefa is survived her siblings: Ana Piedra, Francisca, Soledad, Alicia, Estella and Daniel.
Josefa Navarro Macias, was born on August 30, 1931 in Tornillo, TX. She was a long time and very proud employee of Hortex/Billy the Kid for 35years +. The family enjoyed the consistent stories of her work life at Billy the Kid through the years. She was a very active Grandmother and Great Grandmother, raising generations of grandchildren within the family. She enjoyed word search puzzles, eating panesitos, and drinking cafesito every day. We will always remember her as a storyteller, a gentle strong woman, and the most loving grandmother with a sarcastic sense of humor.
Josefa is survived by children Sylvia Corina Jimenez and Javier Navarro. She will be survived by Grandchildren: Cristina Ramirez, Javier Navarro, Victor Navarro, Shannon Yero, Janice Jimenez, and Jose Lorenzo Jimenez.
Great Grandchildren include: Brendan and Andrew Ramirez; Lucas and Myla Navarro, Alexander and Alessandra Hernandez, Lynette Penrow, Gianna and Xitlali Jimenez, and lastly Sofi Josefin Yero.
Viewing will be held Sunday, May 23rd, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home. Rosary to start at 3:00 p.m. There will be max capacity of 100 guest.
Mass will be held at St. Raphael Catholic Church, May 24, 2021 at 11:30 a.m.
Burial will be held at Fort Bliss Cemetery and will be limited to immediate family only. No additional guest allowed due to Covid-19 restrictions.
The family would like to thank our family and friends for their kind words and support during this difficult time. This was a huge loss for our family but we find relief knowing we have an Angel looking down on us.
