Obituary
Josefina Garcia, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, went to be with the Lord on September 19, 2025, in El Paso, Texas, at the blessed age of 92. Born on April 19, 1933, in Ysleta, Texas, Josefina’s life was a beautiful tapestry of love, faith, and family. With her generous heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion, she left huellas (footprints) of cariño and warmth on all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Josefina lived her life with deep roots in family and tradition. A devoted housewife, she filled her home with laughter, faith, and the aroma of her extraordinary cooking. Known for her homemade tortillas, comforting stews, and holiday tamales, Josefina had the gift of turning a simple meal into a feast of love. Her kitchen was always open, her table never empty, and no one ever left hungry. To neighbors and friends, she was a madrina in spirit-always ready with a plate of food, a listening ear, and a warm embrace.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Justo Garcia, and her cherished grandson Jose Angel Garcia.
Josefina’s memory lives on in her children: Baudelio (Becky), Angel (Mely), Armida, Justo Jr., Adolfo (Charlie), Margarita (Jesus), Tomas (Tonya), Delia, Yolanda (Javier), Juan M. She leaves behind a legacy of love carried forward by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom carry of piece of her Corazón and joy.
Her grandchildren: Baudelio II, Cynthia M., David, Daniel, Roman II, Mark A., Anthony J., Justin T., Alex K. G., Ramiro T., Jack R., Lauren M., AJ, Amanda N., and Karina M., as well as 11 great-grandchildren who will continue her tradition of family unity, laughter, and celebration of life..
Josefina will forever be remembered for her kindness, her generosity, and the alegria she brought to every gathering. Her legacy is one of family, faith, and comida shared around the table. To have known her was to know warmth, blessing and love.
