June Carole Stepanski

Our beloved Mother, June Stepanski, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2017, at home surrounded by her family. Born July 20, 1932 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to the late Stanley and Thelma Lee. Preceded in death by her sister Joann Monroe, son-in-law Joe McReynolds, and Louis Stepanski. Survived by daughters Mary Stepanski, Susan Stepanski, Gloria McReynolds (David Garcia), and Patricia Nichols (Rene Hernandez). Grandchildren Heather Chatterton (Rick), Joshua Nichols (Berenice), Justin Nichols and Missy Gurley. Great grandchildren Shayne, Walker and Teeler Chatterton, Jonah and Jacob Nichols and Isla, Colter and baby Nichols and many nieces, nephews and countless friends. Formerly of Houston, Texas where she married Louis in 1951. The family transferred to El Paso in 1964. June worked with YISD and then became the Director of Religious Education at St. Raphael Catholic Church. Her years as DRE brought much happiness and spiritual fulfillment, with her proudest achievements being her beautiful handmade banners for the church and the many lives she touched. She retired from Del Valle HS. June enjoyed traveling abroad, reading, English History, and was an avid doll collector. Her greatest joy was time spent with her loved ones and serving God. Special thanks to her caregivers, Sara and Rosie. Our Mother will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 24, 2017 from 5-9 pm with Rosary at 8 pm at Hillcrest Funeral Home. Funeral Mass Wednesday, October 25, 2017, 9:30 am at St. Raphael Catholic Church. Arrangements under the direction of Hillcrest Funeral Home, El Paso, TX.
