Lino Hernandez

LINO HERNANDEZ, long-time resident of Anthony, New Mexico passed away on December 19, 2011 at the age of 81. Lino was born in Oakland, California on June 29, 1930 and moved to Anthony in 1972. Lino was truly one of a kind. He was a master storyteller and those close to him knew that his imagination had no boundaries! We’ll greatly miss his stories and his smile, but we’re thankful for the memories and laughs he gave us throughout the years. Lino was preceded in death by Jose F. Alvidrez Sr., Julia Alvidrez, and Ronnie Alvidrez. He is survived by his family of brothers, sisters, and grandchildren: Eva Alvidrez, Alfredo Alvidrez, Randy and Teresa Valles, Jose F. Alvidrez Jr. and wife Sylvia, Tony Alvidrez and Carrie LaTour, Michael and Elena Alvidrez, Rosemary Alvidrez, Tom and Liz Keith, Sandie Por, Becky Alvidrez, Trish Shaw, many great-grandchildren, and many friends in Anthony. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 26, 2011 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM, with a Funeral Mass to follow at 7:00PM at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 224 Lincoln Ave. Anthony, NM. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Make a Wish Foundation, 6500 Boeing Building 214 A, El Paso, TX 79925. A private inurnment will be held by the family at a later date.
