Ms. Lorene Smith Osborn

Lorene S. Patneaude Osborn, passed away on May 10, 2010. Born August 11, 1932, she was the daughter of Glenn Z. and Thelma P. Smith of North Carolina. She is survived by daughter and granddaughter, Pamela Jean Patneaude and Anastasia Mathis, both of El Paso, TX. Also surviving are her stepchildren, Laura (Tim) Jarnigan, Mark (Cynthia) Osborn, Elaine (Andrew) Morton, David (Cindy) and Stephen (Meg) Osborn; and numerous grandchildren; siblings, Vernon (Jean) Smith, Jonie (Tal) Rozzelle, Frank Smith (Kaye) and Glenn (Carol) Smith; and special friends, Ed and Yolanda Rey. Lorene was retired from EPISD, where she was an English teacher at Andress High School and later, Executive Director for Staff Development. She was a member of First Baptist Church, El Paso, where she was very active in arranging Walk to Emmaus and Women in Mission, Pastor Search Committee, as well as many other committees. Her interests included music, reading, golfing, traveling and most of all, her grandchildren.Viewing will be held Wednesday, May 12, 2010 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home West. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church of El Paso, 805 Montana Street, El Paso. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association of El Paso, 4687 N. Mesa Ste. 200, El Paso, TX 79912 or a charity of your choice. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Martin Funeral Home West, 128 N. Resler Dr., El Paso, TX. 79912.
