Went to be with the Lord on January 24, 2022, at the age of 94.
A devoted wife, loving mother as well as grandmother, aunt, sister and friend, Mrs. Viescas was a native El Pasoan. Born August 9, 1927, to parents Manuel and Isidra Lara.
Mrs. Viescas had a long career in retail with JC Penney’s and The Popular, finishing in retirement as shoes department manager. She was a fashionable lady, always dressed to a T, who gave guidance to others to look their very best!
Lorenza Lara Viescas is preceded in death by Mr. Raul Viescas Sr., her loving husband of 60 years. Mrs. Viescas is survived by her son, Raul Viescas Jr.; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Stroh Viescas; granddaughter, Wagner Bryann Litton. Mrs. Viescas was honored to have legal guardianship of nieces & nephews, who she considered as her own children: Betty Vigil (Joe); Armando Lara jr. deceased; Jimmy Lara; Patricia Pasley (Bob); Yvonne Luna (Robert); Larry Lara (Mari); Mary Helen Singleton (Gary).
Pallbearers: Raul Viescas Jr., Rocky Galarza, Ruben Viescas, Ben Viescas, Manny Viescas, Carlos Gandarilla, Lauro Gaytan, and Sergio Jayme.
Visitation 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. & Rosary 7:00 p.m., February 4, 2022, at Hillcrest – 1060 N. Carolina Dr. Funeral Mass 10:30 a.m., February 5, 2022, at St. Patrick’s Cathedral – 1118 N. Mesa (corner of Mesa & Arizona).
