Manuel Jimenez Reyes

There was never a stranger he met that he did not make friends with and so it is with great sadness that the family of Manuel Jimenez Reyes, late son of Lucrecia Reyes, announces his passing, on Friday, March 8, 2019, at the age of 78 years. Manuel will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Maria Elena and his children, Sylvia, Ana, Alberto (Isis), and Manuel. Manuel will also be fondly remembered by his 4 grandchildren, Amanda, Andres, Bruno and Valeria, by his sisters, Aurora and Rebecca. Manuel will also be remembered by the many friends he made daily, always helping those in need and putting others first.

It is easy to reminisce about his great sense of humor and joking spirit. He was able to recall everyone he met and they in turn would always have a story to tell of various adventures or laughs they’ve exchanged. Manuel loved to experiment in the kitchen and while not always successful, there was always a story that came out of it, like the time he tried to make a shark dish delicacy, much to the dismay of everyone nearby. A great orator, he would capture your attention the moment he would start a tale. Always ready to expand your imagination with twists and turns in stories, making you wonder if what he was saying was true or was just the way he narrated his experience. Manuel was a marvelous and interesting person who will be greatly missed.

A Funeral Service in memory of Manuel will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at 10:00 a.m., at the Funeraria del Angel Restlawn, 8817 Dyer St, El Paso, TX 79904, visitation will be held at 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. Funeral will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Manuel to the Homeless Opportunity Center of El Paso (https://homelessopportunitycenter.org/index.php/donate/).

El fue un hombre inigualable, hacía de un extraño un buen amigo. Con gran tristeza, la familia de Manuel Jiménez Reyes, hijo fallecido de Lucrecia Reyes, anunció su muerte el viernes 8 de Marzo de 2019, a la edad de 78 años. Manuel será recordado con cariño por su esposa de 53 años, María Elena y sus hijos, Sylvia, Ana, Alberto (Isis) y Manuel. Manuel también será recordado con cariño por sus 4 nietos, Amanda, Andres, Bruno y Valeria, por sus hermanas, Aurora y Rebecca. Manuel también será recordado por los muchos amigos que tuvo durante su vida, siempre ayudando a los necesitados y poniendo a los demás en primer lugar.

Es fácil recordar su gran sentido del humor y su espíritu de broma. Podía recordar a todos los que conocía y a su vez siempre tendrían una historia que contar de varias aventuras o risas que intercambiaron. A Manuel le encantaba experimentar en la cocina y aunque no siempre tuvo éxito, siempre surgió una historia, como la vez que trató de hacer deleitar a un plato de tiburones, para consternación de todos los que estaban cerca. Un gran orador, atraería su atención en el momento en que comienza una historia. Siempre listo para expandir tu imaginación con giros y vueltas en historias, lo que te hace preguntarte si lo que decía era verdad o simplemente fue la forma en que narró su experiencia. Manuel fue una persona maravillosa e interesante que se extrañará mucho.

Un servicio funerario en memoria de Manuel se llevará a cabo el miércoles 13 de marzo de 2019 a las 10:00 am en la funeraria Angel Restlawn, 8817 Dyer St, El Paso, TX 79904, la visita se realizará de 8 am a 10 am. El funeral continuará en el cementerio nacional de Fort Bliss.
