On Saturday, March 7th, 2026, Manuel Moreno Jr. was embraced by the Lord surrounded by his family. Born in Chihuahua, Mexico, Manuel immigrated to the United States in 1956, settling in El Paso, TX with his parents and siblings. He later graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso before following the family tradition into a career with Levi Strauss & Co. He led a long-standing career in the garment and manufacturing business, spanning places all over North and Central America, before ultimately becoming a local insurance agent.
An avid Dallas Cowboys fan, Manny frequently donned Cowboys apparel and loved wearing his cowboy boots. He enjoyed going to the movies to watch comedies and action-packed thrillers, and his collection of 90's action films was unrivaled. He was notorious for his love of coke, chocolate, and popcorn as well as his utter disdain for vegetables and greens. Manny loved to listen to music with a good beat, and his infamous *clap* before throwing his arms in the air will forever be remembered as what he would've called, "PURO PARTY!"
Manuel is survived by his former wife Yolanda Flores, and their daughters Sasha Monik Moreno (David Granado) and Danielle Erika Moreno, as well as his sons Manuel Moreno III and Erik Adrian Moreno (Edgar Gomez). He leaves behind a sister, Rosa Elliott, as well as several nieces and nephews and extended family members. Manuel was preceded in death by his parents Manuel Moreno Sr. and Enriqueta Moreno, his younger brother Enrique Moreno, and his nephew Oswaldo Diaz. His family finds comfort knowing he was welcomed into the afterlife by his beloved fur babies Oliver, Maddie, Bella, Copper, Sophie, Basia, and Lily.
A memorial service will be held at the chapel at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery, 401 S Zaragoza Rd, on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. followed by interment.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in their father's memory to the Humane Society of El Paso at https://hselpaso.org/donate.
