Our Beautiful, Beloved, Elegant Gem of a Mother, Maria Del Refugio Torres, (Cuca) was 92, left this Earth on May 15, 2022 to join her new journey. A great fighter, who fought and kept her faith until the end. She is preceded in death by her husband Jose I. Torres, Son Manuel Ruiz, and daughter Maria I. Smith.
Her green gorgeous eyes, matched her beautiful soul. She loved life to the fullest. She enjoyed family gatherings, attended an unforgettable Rocio Durcal concert, to wild rides on roller coasters at Disneyland, listened to her favorite Mexican music, especially her favorite song, "La Ley Del Monte" (La Penca).
Cuca was so incredibly strong, so caring, and so loving! The unconditional love she had for her family is heartfelt and will forever be remembered and cherished in our hearts-always.
Maria (Cuca) is survived by her children Joann Reyes, Patricio Torres, Luciano Torres, Delia Rios, Leticia Fernandez, and Yvonne T. Guerra. She leaves behind her two sisters (Best Friends) Petra Ortiz and Delia Rodriguez and many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A visitation for Maria (Cuca) will be Thursday, May 26 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at Funeraria Del Angel Restlawn, 8817 Dyer St., El Paso, TX 79904.
A Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 2709 Alabama St. El Paso, TX 79930 on Friday May 27, 2022 at 11am. Graveside service will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 4848 Alps St. El Paso, TX 79904.
