Marjorie Greenwood

Marjorie Greenwood, 87, our beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 5th, 2025. Mrs. Greenwood was born November 22, 1937 in Marlin, Texas. She graduated from Texas Western University with a bachelor’s degree in music and a master’s degree in education. She was known among her family and peers as an outstanding teacher, classical pianist, and a lover of the Arts. Her indelible warmth, charm, and wit will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, James Brockington, her second husband, Pierre Greenwood, her sisters Laura Burrell, Betty Price, her brothers Henry Smith, Aaron Smith, and her sons Mark Brockington and James Brockington Jr. She is survived by her sister Grace Winston and brother John Paul Smith, and her children, Rev. Russell Brockington and Vanessa Greenwood, M.D., and by her 6 grandchildren, Adam Brockington, Russell Brockington Jr., Michael Brockington, Mark Brockington, and Austin Greenwood.

Marjorie will be laid to rest with her husband at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Martin Funeral Home West.
