Our beautiful, precious and beloved mother Marta Aguilar Bermudez de Winter, born June 16, 1919, joined her husband Haywood L. Winter on May 17, 2014. Our mother had a contagious love for life and lightened any room with her happiness and laughter and for this and much more she will be greatly missed.
Our mom had so many accomplishments. Among them, she was a Lieutenant in the Nursing Core during WWII. Later, she was an International Public Health Nurse working in both Juarez and El Paso for the Department of Health.
Marta lived her life with passion and would take pleasure in the smallest things. She left behind her legacy for love of literature and life-long learning, an incredible sense of fashion and elegance, love for a variety of music, dancing, traveling the world, art, antiques, but most of all her historical home in Sunset Heights.
Her daughters Patricia Winter, Christina Winter Ververis, Laura Winter and Olga Winter Tamayo survive her. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Karina Bouman, Ricardo Hernandez, Katia Beauchamp, Saki Ververis, Victoria Phillips, Charlie and Regina Tamayo, a great granddaughter Gizelle Bouman and soon to be born twin boys Beauchamp.
We know our beloved mother will now be at peace but she will be greatly missed now and forever.
