Mary R. McCollum

Mary R. McCollum 77, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2014. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Del R. McCollum, Jr.; her brother Les Rhodes; her two children Kurt McCollum and Kim McCollum Ramirez; and her two grandchildren Ashley and Brittany Ramirez. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology at UTEP while raising her children. She enjoyed theater and acted in several plays at SRO, Moulin Rouge and the Chamizal theater, to include: Cyrono, Oedipus, lilies of the Field, Born Yesterday, and Opal. She was also an avid Nascar fan. Her favorite driver was Jimmy Johnson, but she also liked Carl Edwards and Kyle Bush. Her schedule was usually planned around Nascar races. Mary was bless with a loving and caring husband and led a full and prosperous life. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 21 2014 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Martin East. Funeral Service will be Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
