Meliton Lerma Cervantes, a compassionate soul, passed away on January 17, 2026, at the age of 83. He was born on April 2, 1942, and left a legacy of kindness and dedication to his family. Meliton's journey in life brought him to the love of his life, Maria Esther, with whom he shared 65 years of marriage. He has now been reunited with his loving wife who preceded him in death. Meliton will live on through his children, Ramiro Lerma(Maria Guadalupe), Carlos Miguel Lerma (Susana), Mario Lerma (Melissa), Isela Ruiz, Celia Lerma, and Blanca Estela Brock (Anthony). Her memory will be cherished by her grandchildren, Marcelo Ruiz Jr, Jesus Antonio Castruita, Miguel Angel Castruita, Marisela Ruiz, Karla Susana Lerma, Ramiro Lerma, April Ruiz, Alessandra Ruiz, Diego Castruita, and Braxton Brock; and her great-grandchildren: Brantley Castruita, Marilyn Ruiz, Mael Ruiz, Maximilian Ruiz, Nolan Gorham, and Mathias Ruiz. He will be remembered by his brother, Samuel Lerma, and sisters, Maria Telesfora Robles, Ignacia Lerma, Sara Lerma, Carmen Rivas, Emilia Rodriguez, Santos Delgado and Ana Maria Lerma.
Visitation will be held on January 21, 2026, from 5pm to 9pm with a Vigil Service 7pm at Crestview Funeral Home, 1462 North Zaragoza Rd., El Paso, Texas, 79936. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10am on January 22, 2026, at St. Mark Catholic Church, 11700 Pebble Hills Blvd, 79936. Rite of Committal will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 401 S. Zaragoza Rd, 79907.
Meliton will be remembered for his compassion and the love he shared with his family and friends.
