

Born on February 7, 1941, in El Paso, TX, Ramon lived a life marked by love, dedication and great strength. He was a devoted Catholic, husband, a loving father, a proud grandfather, great grandfather and a loyal friend. His wisdom, steady presence and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Ramon worked for the City of El Paso/Street Department as an Equipment Operator for 30 years before retiring in May 1989, earning the respect of his colleagues. Outside of work he enjoyed taking care of his yard, his crops, his vehicles, listening to the radio in his truck, enjoying family outings and get togethers, buying Lotto tickets and playing the Lottery. He loved his coffee in the morning with his pan dulce and what he called his steak (frijoles refritos, a grilled, buttered pan fransecito with his salad on the side).
Ramon left this earth, peacefully at home, surrounded by everyone that loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents Juan S. and Anita A. Guevara, his aunt Consepcion Avalos and four brothers, Alejandro, Juan, Alberto and Jose Guevara. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Ramona L. Guevara; his four children: Martha Y. Guevara, Cristina Pichardo (Peter), Ray Guevara Jr. (Elsa) and Alejandro Guevara (Erika); six grandchildren: Anthony, Ulysses, Christian, Patrick, Jackie and Alex; six great grandchildren: Sophia, Isaac, Brandon, Caleb, A.J. and Xzayvion, all of who brought great pride and joy to his life. He
also leaves behind many close relatives, nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 N. Carolina Dr., El Paso, TX 79915. Public Visitation will be from 5:00p.m. – 9:00p.m. The Rosary will be held at 7:00p.m. All who knew and loved him are welcomed to attend.
Mass will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 9025 N. Loop Dr., El Paso, TX 79907 at 12:30p.m. Graveside service will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery at 2:00p.m.
Dad, your memory will always be in our hearts. We will never forget your “Terminator Smile”! It was a privilege to have known you and to have you as our father. Thank you for everything you did for us…we love you!!!
