Robert William Laird

Robert William Laird, 81, of El Paso, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, December 9, 2016. “Bob,” a devoted husband, father and grandfather was preceded in death by his wife Mary, granddaughter Lauren, and brother James Laird. He is survived by his daughters, Jo Ann Elquist (Gordon), Sandy Laird Belknap (Jim), Karen Laird and his sons Robert P. Laird (Bertha) and Glenn Laird (Laura), Grandchildren, Sarah Elquist Waggoner (Glen), Jordan Elquist, Kayleigh Elquist, Tyler Belknap (Julie), Mary Katherine Belknap, Chris Laird (Brittany), Kyle Laird, Brett Laird, Great-Grandchildren, Jack and Barrett Waggoner, Blake and Brynn Belknap and Zayne De La Rosa, sister Barbara Young and longtime companion Corrine Boyce. Bob was a US Navy Veteran who served aboard the USS Sea Owl. He was a member of the USS Sea Owl Association, the United States Submarine Veterans White Sands Base, the El Paso Woodworker’s Association and past member of St Patrick Cathedral and St Matthew’s Choirs. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting and golf. He will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association, American Heart Association or the El Paso Veteran’s Administration.
