Rodolfo Rosales

Rodolfo (Rudy) Rosales, age 80, born August 22, 1935 in San Elizario, TX. He passed away on July 18, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was a member of the Catholic Church and a parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows. Rudy graduated from Ysleta High School in 1952 and served in the US Army from 1958 to 1960. He started his grocery career working for Food Mart, after graduating from high school. He held different positions to include cashier, produce manager and assistant manager. In 1978, he became store manager of Piggly Wiggly (formerly Food Mart). In 1979, he became co-owner of Quality Food Mart until his retirement in 2009. His favorite past time was playing golf with his numerous colleagues and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Delfina Rosales and his sister, Juanita Esparza. He is survived by his sisters, Terry Telles (Eddie), Mary Rosales, Jesusita McGrane (Richard) and Rita Quiambao (Rey); 9 nieces and nephews, 15 great-nephews and nieces. He will be greatly missed, especially by his immediate family. Thank you to Hospice of El Paso and their dedicated care; especially to Dr. Barbara Reeves, Claudia Moreno, Isela Lara and Deacon Juan Arias. Also a special thanks to Irma Dahr and Tuni Ortega who were his day-to-day caretakers. Visitation 6:00-9:00 pm with a Vigil/Rosary to begin at 7:00 pm on Friday, July 22nd at Hillcrest Funeral Home East. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 23rd, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church at 9:30 am. Graveside Service to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of El Paso.
