Rosa “Rosie” Maria Pedregon Gonzalez, a beautiful soul, devoted wife, and nurturing mother, joined her family in heaven on April 30, 2026. For 47 years, she was the beloved partner of her husband, Louie Gonzalez, and the heart of her family, guiding her two loving children, Robert Gonzalez and Christine Gonzalez, with unwavering love and wisdom.
Rosie’s life was rooted in El Paso, Texas, where she spent 72 years surrounded by the warmth of her community and the traditions she cherished. A proud graduate of Ysleta High School, class of 1974, she embodied the spirit of “Once an Indian, always an Indian,” carrying her school pride throughout her life.
Rosie’s adventurous heart led her to explore the world beyond her hometown. She found joy in traveling—whether marveling at the ancient Aztec pyramids in Mexico City, camping amongst the trees and streams of Ruidoso, basking in the sun on the beaches of Zihuatanejo, or watching the people going up and down the boardwalk at Mission Beach in San Diego. Each journey was an opportunity to embrace new cultures, savor new flavors, and create lasting memories with her loved ones. She especially treasured time spent with her children in Chandler and Phoenix, Arizona, always seeking ways to bring her family together.
Her kitchen was the heart of her home. Rosie was an extraordinary cook, known for comforting her family with delicious meals lovingly taught by her mother. Cooking was more than a hobby—it was her way of nurturing those she loved, passing down family recipes, and creating a legacy of togetherness and warmth. Her food brought comfort, joy, and a sense of belonging to everyone who gathered at her table.
Rosie’s passions extended beyond travel and cooking. She delighted in simple pleasures: sharing stories, celebrating family traditions, and making every gathering special. Her laughter, kindness, and generosity touched all who knew her, leaving a legacy of love that will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Rosie’s life was a beautiful journey—one filled with adventure, love, and the joy of giving. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever inspire those who were blessed to know her.
