Sonia Ramirez

Sonia Ramirez, devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend and partner, passed away unexpectedly on January 14, 2025, at the age of 53. Sonia is survived by her son Efren Ramirez (wife Alyssa) and her parents Filiberto and Bertha Ramirez, her siblings, Maria Ramirez, Sara Lopez (husband Raul Lopez), and Grace Torres. Sonia is predeceased by her brother Filiberto Ramirez, Jr. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Cristina Ramirez, Selena Baker (husband Ethan), Victoria Duarte (husband Samuel), Sergio Recio and Isabel Ramirez. Sonia is also survived by her partner, Adrian Flores and their dog Bo. Sonia graduated from Jefferson High School where she was active in the ROTC. Sonia was a self-taught paralegal, loved this profession and worked in the legal community in El Paso her entire life. At the time she passed away she was employed by the El Paso County Public Defender’s Office which she described as her “all-time favorite job.” Sonia’s pride and joy was her son Efren but in the last few years she was devoted to caring for her parents. Sonia was kind, generous and was everyone’s “problem-solver.” Even though Sonia was taken far too soon, she left her mark on every person she met. Our family will be lost without her.

Funeral Services for Sonia:

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. Rosary will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 N. Carolina Drive, El Paso, TX 79915, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 9205 N. Loop Dr. El Paso, TX 79907 followed by interment at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, 401 S. Zaragoza Rd., El Paso, Texas.
