Susan K. Prins “Sue,” beloved wife, daughter, mother, and grandmother, of Greensboro, GA, formerly of Covington, passed away on November 7, 2025, in Greensboro. She was born on April 12, 1945, in Vandalia, Illinois, to the late Roland Harting Fehn and Blanch Murray Fehn.
She grew up with her parents and two sisters in Decatur, IL, where she graduated high school. Although a shy girl, she always had the spirit of independence. In high school, she became an accomplished flutist and continued to play to the enjoyment of many years throughout her life.
Sue met her first husband, John, at Southern Illinois University, and they had a son. She later married her true love, Arnie Prins, at the young age of 26. Sue moved to the small town of Hooppole, IL, where she soon made many friends. They made a life together and raised four children. She loved spending summers camping and traveling the Southwest.
She began a career as a home health CNA and elderly care giver. Later, Sue opened her own nursing home in Hooppole, helping others as she was always known for. Sue and Arnie were lucky enough to retire in 2002 and moved to El Paso, TX, to enjoy the sun in the Southwest. Once again, Sue made wonderful friends and enjoyed the time with her sister, Frankie, who lived nearby. She even ventured into the booming Internet trend at the time and became successful on eBay.
About 10 years ago, Sue moved to Georgia to be closer to her family. She loved her hobbies of stitching, crocheting and crafting. She especially enjoyed socializing and running about. Sue was also involved in her church, Lakeside at Lake Oconee, and loved the fellowship with all of those around her. What people remember most about Sue is her infectious laugh and her kindness towards others. Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers.
Her survivors include her son, Bill (Pamela) Ploplis of Greensboro, GA; stepdaughter Cherry Baltimore (Tom) of Davenport, Iowa; stepsons Alan Prins (Sandy) of Atalissa, Iowa, and Kevin Prins (Stasha) of OH. Her grandchildren are: Brandon Blazer of Conyers, GA; William Ploplis (Aubree) of Jerome, ID; Aaron Prins (Samantha) of Keyesport, IL; and Kayleen Prins of St. Louis, MO.
