Terrie Lee, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, passed away on June 5, 2025, at the age of 67, surrounded by her loving family. After a courageous seven-year battle with cancer, she left this world as she lived—strong, determined, and deeply loved.
Terrie was born on April 24, 1958, in Richmond, Washington State, to Lieutenant Colonel Virgil H. Wilson and Helen A. James, both of whom preceded her in death. As the daughter of a military family, Terrie grew up in many places, but ultimately made her way to El Paso, Texas, where she spent her early adulthood.
It was in El Paso that she met her husband, Ruben Enriquez, with whom she shared a life full of adventure and love. Together, with a blended family, they built their lives. In the late 1990s, Terrie and Ruben found their forever home in the beautiful city of Fort Collins, Colorado. There, Terrie was able to use her academic achievements to follow her passion to be a nurse, midwife delivering countless babies.
She was a lifelong learner, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at El Paso, and later pursuing a Master of Science in Nursing as well as a second Master’s for Nurse Practitioner from Texas Tech University. Throughout her distinguished career, she held multiple certifications—Registered Nurse, Nurse of Midwifery, and Certified Nurse Specialist. She was a fierce advocate for women’s health, touching countless lives through her compassion and wisdom.
Terrie’s life outside of work was just as full. She found joy in gardening, photography, birding, reading, cooking, riding motorcycles with her husband, traveling, and, above all, spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Ruben Enriquez; her children: Trina J. Enriquez, Karinthia C. Enriquez (spouse Nathan Zakopyko), Zuguey B. Enriquez (spouse Robert Armendariz), and Ruben Enriquez Jr.; as well as her eldest brother, Barry Wilson, and his wife, Cari. She was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Wilson. She also leaves behind 4 beautiful grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Terrie was known for her fearlessness, intelligence, and vibrant personality. She was fierce, with a gift for making those she loved feel seen and cherished. She taught her children to follow Christ, peruse their dreams, and always persevere.
Her legacy will live on in the lives she touched, the family she nurtured, and the example she set. Terrie did not want her death to be shadowed by sadness and tears, but rather to be a celebration of eternal life.
Her family is comforted knowing she is basking in the presence of God.
We look forward to seeing you again.
We love you this much.
Visitation will be held on June 16, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a celebration of her life at 7:00 p.m., at Funeraria del Angel Central 3839 Montana Ave., El Paso, TX 79903.
Prayer service will be June 17, 2025, 9:00 a.m., at Funeraria Del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Ave. 79903. Terrie and her family will be escorted to Fort Bliss National Cemetery following services, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX 79906 .
