To my mentor, thank you for allowing me into your circle of electronic technology. What was a hobby for you was a turning point for me that helped shape my future. Your advice and wisdom that you contributed to me in my youth is most cherished. You will be missed and remembered.

My name is Sergio Vicente Sandoval-Perez. I am his son. He was a single dad when he brought me over from Mexico City to Juarez, Mexico, sometime in the 1950's.  We emigrated to El Paso, Texas, sometime in or around 1963.  There is much to talk about.

What a beautiful baby you were!

Siempre con sus rosales. Mi papá era buenisimo jardinero. De todo plantaba. Teniamos arboles de durazno, manzana, chabacano, ciruela, pera, y de igo. Tambien teniamos un vid de uvas verde, tomate, sandia, melón, calabacitas, y rosales de todos colores. 

Always with his roses. My dad was a great gardener. He planted all kinds of stuff. We had all kinds of fruit trees, peach, apple, apricot, plum, pear and fig trees. We also had a big green grapevine, tomatoes, watermelon, cantaloupe, squash, and roses of different colors and viarieties.

I don't really remember this day as I was only one year old, but I do remember countless other days that I spent hand in hand with my dad.  Like Sunday mornings at the swap meet.  We'd wake up and get ready to go. It never mattered which swap meet we went to, from Bronco to Woolco, or Fox Plaza to down town, spending those mornings walking hand in hand with my dad will always and forever be one of my favorite memories.
