William Ray Baldwin 54, (Bill), died peacefully on Saturday, November 20, 2021, after a three-year battle with colorectal cancer. Bill was born in El Paso, Texas on November 27, 1966, to Larry and Bonnie Baldwin. He attended Eastwood Knolls School and later Eastwood High School where he enjoyed performing in the choir, known as the Cavaliers for four years. Even though Bill did not enjoy education, he loved performing in the choir, learning about cars as well as developing a love for cooking. Bill went on to attend UTEP studying graphic design, as well as developing an interest in sculpture, painting and ceramic work.
Midway through college, Bill had a serious talk with his grandfather, T.D. Baldwin about becoming a barber. Bill reluctantly agreed with his grandfather to quit school, and attended the El Pipo Academy of Hair Design, where he hoped to meet many girls. Eventually, Bill concentrated more on his cutting skills and left the female prospects at the Academy. Upon graduation from the Academy, Bill began his 32 year career at Baldwin’s Barber Shop. During that time, he made many lifelong friends, always making one feel they were his best. Bill, never took for granted the generosity, love and loyalty of all his clients. Throughout his lifetime, Bill had three loves: Family, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and his love for anything associated with World War II, especially airplanes. Bill and his son Atticus volunteered at The War Eagles Air Museum in Santa Teresa, NM, during the last year of his life.
Bill is survived by his wife Kelly and son Atticus of El Paso, TX. He is also survived by his parents, Larry and Bonnie Baldwin, his mother-in-law Cheri McFarlin (Larry), his father-in-law Steve Jones (Guylene) all of El Paso, TX. Sisters Janelle Gonzalez (Armando), children Savannah and Jaden Gonzalez of Salem, NJ and sister Carrie Myers (Frank), children Sabrina and twins Anastasia and Arabella all of Springhouse, PA. Also survived by sister-in-law Wendy Bloss (Leigh) of El Paso, TX, children Justin (Allison), Lauren, Avery Bloss. Bill is also survived by numerous extended family members.
Services will be held at First Baptist Church of El Paso at 805 Montana on Friday, December 3rd at 11 a.m.
