

She was born January 20, 1926, in Hardin County, to the late Mary Frances and James Hilman Higdon.
Anna worked at the State Theater in Elizabethtown on weekends while in high school. There she met William Stanley Stark, who was in the service. They developed a serious relationship and fell in love. A 1944 graduate of Elizabethtown High School, she started nurse’s training at St. Joseph’s Infirmary in Louisville but stopped when Stanley returned from World War II in 1945. They wed January 19, 1946. Anna spent her life as a homemaker and a devoted wife and mother. Stanley passed away January 4, 2011.
She is survived by her children, William Jr., Carolyn Keller (Steve), Gregory (Belinda), and Patricia Ralston (Dale); grandchildren Charlie Stark, Stephen Keller, Ben Keller, Kristin Stark Mitchell, Jeff Stark, Brittany Stark, Haylee Ralston and Kendra Ralston and 12 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church of Elizabethtown.
A funeral to celebrate her life will take place on Saturday, August 24th, at 11 AM, at Brown Funeral Home. Visitation will be prior to the service at 10 AM at Brown Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest next to Stanley at Elizabethtown City Cemetery.
