Barbara was preceded in passing by her parents, Lambert and Gladys Yates; her daughter, Shelly Miles; and her sister, Helen Stucker.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Virgil Edwards; her siblings, Keith Yates and Nancy Hayes (Ronnie); her step-son, Randy Edwards; two grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Brown Funeral Home, located at 306 College St., Elizabethtown, Kentucky, on January 28, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at the same location, beginning at 12:00 pm.
Barbara will be laid to rest at Fairfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her honor to a charity of your choice.
