Christopher Paul Tharpe set off on his greatest adventure yet to join our Lord in heaven on January 3, 2026. With his passing, our world has lost a true legend, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and adventure. He was the kind of guy who'd give you the shirt off his back, always putting others before himself.
We are celebrating the life of a remarkable man who left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He was the most hardworking, devoted father and grandfather who embodied the spirit of adventure and kindness.
With a heart of gold and ice blue eyes that sparkled with mischief, he lived life on his own terms, embracing every moment with passion and enthusiasm. Carhartt’s and jeans were his uniform - you could often catch him pulling up his pants (again) because he'd apparently forgotten the belt... but when the temps dropped and bibs came out, he'd buckle up just fine.
His love for his family knew no bounds - his daughter and grandsons were his world, and he spent his life ensuring they had every opportunity to thrive.
He was a man of many interests, and his eyes would light up talking about mudding, motorcycles, welding, and art. His tattoos told stories of their own, and he'd often crack a cold Bush Light while watching the sunset with his partner, Seirra, and their loyal companion, Hank.
Now, he's painting sunsets in the sky, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience. His life's wish was to give his descendants the life he never had - and he did just that.
Above all, Chris was a man of God, with a faith that kept him strong through life's ups and downs. His relationship with Jesus was the foundation of his life, guiding him with love, compassion, and wisdom.
We'll carry his memory forward, living life with the same goofiness, kindness, adventure, and love that he shared with us. We'll miss his infectious laugh, those ice blue eyes, his warm smile, and his unwavering kindness. Rest easy, dear one. Your loved ones will carry your spirit forward.
Ya know, just doin that Gangsta’ shit.
Chris is survived by his loved ones: Samantha Tharpe (daughter), Thadeus Bristol (son-in-law), Malakai and Rowen Bristol (grandsons), Phyllis Jean Wilson (mother), David (Donna) Tharpe (father), Michael (Jackie) and Adam (Cindy) Wilson (brothers), and Seirra McStoots (Fiance).
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, with a Memorial Service to follow at the same venue, starting at 2:00 pm.
