

Colleen Lyons Westwood, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025, in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, at the age of 73. Born on December 13, 1951, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to the late Katherine Herbst and Paul Lyons, Colleen's life was a testament to the power of kindness and the strength of family bonds.
Colleen's journey through life was marked by her unwavering devotion to her family, her deep Christian faith, and her passion for life's simple pleasures. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her husband of 52 years, Tom Westwood, stood by her side as a pillar of support, sharing in both the joys and challenges that life presented. Together, they raised a family of three remarkable sons: Thomas Jr. (Paul), Jason (Nequilla), and Jonathan Westwood, who will forever hold their mother's memory in their hearts.
Colleen's legacy extends to her cherished grandchildren, Jason Westwood II, Paige Westwood, Daly Wilkerson, and Kalea Wilkerson, who knew her affectionately as "Gram." Her love for them was immeasurable, and she took great pride in watching them grow and thrive. Colleen's siblings, brother Michael and sisters Darcie and Lauren, along with her best friend Evelyn and mother-in-law, Estelle (Audley) Westwood. Colleen has many nieces and nephews, three brother-in-laws; Harry, Richard, Paul and David and two sister-in-laws, Marianne and Donna, who will miss her gentle presence.
Professionally, Colleen dedicated 28 years of service as a civilian Dental Assistant for the Department of Defense. Her commitment to her work was evident in the care she provided and the respect she earned from her colleagues. Upon retirement, she embraced her new role as "Gram" with enthusiasm, pouring her love and wisdom into her grandchildren's lives.
An avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Colleen's spirit and energy were infectious, especially during football season. Her interests extended to the kitchen, where she found joy in cooking and drawing inspiration from her favorite cooking shows. Whether it was preparing a family meal or cheering from the sidelines at her children's and grandchildren's sporting events, Colleen's presence was a source of comfort and encouragement.
Colleen's life was a reflection of her loving nature, her faith-filled heart, and her gentle soul. She navigated life's challenges with grace and always found strength in her Christian faith. Her ability to see the good in others, to offer a kind word, and to live with intention will be remembered by all who knew her.
As we bid farewell to Colleen Lyons Westwood, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and love. Her memory will continue to inspire us, and her spirit will remain a guiding light for her family and friends. Though she has left this earthly realm, her legacy of love, faith, and gentleness will endure forever.
A Memorial Mass for Colleen Lyons Westwood will be held at Saint James Catholic Church, located at 307 W Dixie Ave, Elizabethtown, KY, 42701. The service is scheduled for December 6, 2025, at 10:00 am. Colleen will be laid to rest following Mass in Saint James Cemetery.
