Curtis Dale Allen

accident at his home in Sonora Kentucky.

He was working outside, where he spent the majority of his time. He never knew a stranger and is

leaving behind a whole lot of family and friends who loved him dearly.

Broken roads led him to his wife, Carla Allen, nearly 22 years. He did his best to be an extra

dad for their 3 kids: Molly Loomis-Anderson of Louisville, Audrianna (Brandon) Dawson of

Shepherdsville and Jordan (Emilee) Loomis-Anderson of Elizabethtown. He's also leaving

behind 3 priceless grandchildren, Raylin, Thomas and Lilith. Curtis's nieces & nephews were

extra kids to him and he loved Alyssa, Amy, Beth, Jonathan, Brittany, Travis, Marissa and Sarah

dearly.

Curtis also leaves behind his brothers, Ted (Lisa) Allen of Caneyville and Harley (Cindy) Allen Jr. of

Elizabethtown, a sister, Shannon Absher-Barnes of Louisville, 2 step siblings, Charles (Carolyn)

Bell of Leitchfield and Mark Absher of Bowling Green.

Curtis also leaves behind parents, Harley & Jessie Allen of Big Clifty and Everett Absher of

Louisville.

He is joining his mom, Madeline Absher and a step brother, Danny Bell.

Curtis also leaves behind several cousins many of whom were as close to him as brothers or

sisters. Mike (Regina) Tate of Fairdale were a bit closer to Curtis as they helped him through

some really tough times in his life. Two aunts, June Ashlock and Delores Grimes, also played a

big part in making him the man he was...a true one of a kind, caring person.

Curtis was an employee of The News Enterprise as a pressman for more than 25 years. His

coworkers were some of his closest friends.

Outside of work Curtis enjoyed taking care of their small farm, spending time with family and we

can't forget basketball...Louisville specifically and a certain game day once a year was definitely

a cause of tension in the home as Carla is anything but a Louisville fan...he didn't root for them

alone as Audrianna became a Louisville fan just to be on his side of things.

Curtis loved to tell jokes even at seemingly the most inappropriate time just to make people

smile. He enjoyed dancing and taking walks, especially in the woods...but preferred time on his

tractor to most things. In Sonora, he was often known as the man with his favorite little buddy,

Bear Bear, hanging out of the window.

The funeral is at 1 p.m. Friday, April 9, 2021 at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with Rio Taylor and Jeff Ashlock officiating. Burial will be at Gilead Baptist Church in Glendale immediately following.

Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Thursday and continues after 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
