She was a strong willed, God fearing woman who dedicated her life to her family, friends, and church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George "Charlie" Slinker; brother, Winford Simmons; and sister, Christine Vertrees.
She is survived by her son, Steve Slinker of Mt. Washington; three daughters, Wanda Walker of Elizabethtown, Cheryl (Charles) Gentry of Mt. Washington, and Debbie (Duke) Downs of Radcliff; sister, Jean Wise; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 31, at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Trumbo officiating.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
