She was a native of Detroit, MI.
She was preceded in death by her husband, CSM August E. Heckler, Jr.; her parents, Robert E. Sumner and Joan Neal Barkes; step father, Richard Barkes and a brother, Billy Joe Sumner.
She is survived by one daughter, Tanya Lynn Hack (Lee); three brothers, David Sumner, Bob Sumner and James Sumner; three sisters, Carol Corbit, Pam Lee and Kim Sumner and two grandchildren, Alex and Dylan.
A graveside service will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff.
