Gregory Lee Swift, age 67, of Glendale, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026, surrounded by love. Greg was a beloved husband, father, papaw, brother, and friend whose strength, loyalty, and quiet devotion defined his life. Born on March 29, 1958, Greg lived a life rooted in hard work, service, and deep love for his family.
Greg proudly served his country in the military in Korea, where his discipline and determination led him to become a taekwondo champion—an achievement that reflected both his physical strength and inner resolve. After returning home, he built a company, Swift Roofing of Elizabethtown, as a prestigious roofing contractor. He is known for his strong work ethic and willingness to help others.
For 30 years, Greg shared a loving marriage with his wife, Lisa Swift. Together, they built a life full of memories, laughter, and unwavering partnership. He was a devoted father to his daughters, Rebecca Doepke (Jordan) and Sarah Larkin (Colby), and a proud papaw who cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren: Trinton Lewis, Luca DeFerraro, Anabel Larkin, Michael DeFerraro, Lucy Larkin, Dash Doepke, Sloane Larkin, Cecilia Larkin, and Mercy Doepke.
Greg was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Swift; his mother, Annette Cameron; his stepfather, Dewey Cameron; and his sister, Teresa Lopez. He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa; his daughters and grandchildren; his brother, Garry Swift (Debbie); and his sisters, Nancy Debolt, Beverly Prince, and Penny Swift (Timothy), along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins who will forever carry his memory.
Outside of work, Greg found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. He loved hunting, fishing, boating, farming, and spending time outdoors. He especially enjoyed long, peaceful drives through the countryside and visiting the Amish. He was a devoted member of Glendale Methodist Church and found peace in his faith. At home, he could often be found in the garage —one of the many small joys that brought him comfort.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and will continue Friday, January 9, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Brown Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM, with entombment at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
Greg will be remembered for his courage, kindness, and the deep love he had for his family. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the family he held so dear, and the company he built to be second to none.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Glendale Methodist Church and Hardin County Humane Society.
