

Henry Shoffner, age 82, of Sonora, Kentucky, passed away quickly and peacefully, surrounded by family in a room full of love, on Thursday, November 7th, 2024, at University of Louisville Hospital, after a tragic truck accident.
Henry was born on December 13th, 1941, in Hodgenville, Kentucky, to the late Richard and Fay Owsley Shoffner.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Linda Shoffner; daughters, Kelly Lawson (Jerry) of Hodgenville, April Race (Brandon) of Elizabethtown; grandchildren, Josh Ryan, Abigail Ryan, Scotty Lawson (Cortney), Adam Lawson (Samantha), Tayler Shannon (Jacob), Erin Race; great-grandchildren, Sophie Lawson, Carter Lawson, Harlyn Rae Lawson, Obadiah Lawson, Lane Shannon; siblings, Everett Shoffner (Mary), Diane Shoffner; brother-in-law, Neil Yates (Marie); family friend, Judy Drake; and three faithful fur babies, Clover, Quigley, and Paisley.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by Ranger, his four-legged best friend.
In the US Airforce, Henry faithfully served as a jet engine mechanic. He was a devoted member of Glendale Methodist Church. He had a successful career that began in construction and then later specialized in custom tile and marble installation in homes and businesses. He had a passion for what he did and was known for his beautiful work. In his retirement, Henry began working with wood and loved blessing people with his many creations. What made him most happy, was living in the country, enjoying his many farm animals, birds and squirrels; as well as gardening and yard perfection. As a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, he was the one to call whenever someone needed help and he would always show up with his kind and servant heart. He knew how to handle any crisis.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 16th, 2024 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Craig Perkins and Pastor Ric Holladay officiating, at Brown Funeral Home, 306 College Street, Elizabethtown, Kentucky 42701. Visitation will be on Friday, November 15th, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home.
