

He was born in Greenville, Georgia on September 28, 1952, and worked for NSU Corporation in Sonora.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Phillips, Sr.; mother, Virginia Haynes Phillips; a sister, Irma Bryant; three brothers-in-law, John Miron, George McCourt, and Mike Viers; and two nephews, Kevin Nichols and Braxton Coates.
He is survived by his brother, Charlie (Vivian) Phillips, Jr. of Sonora; five sisters, Karen (Charles) Nichols, Clara McCourt, and Loretta (Robert) Hall of Elizabethtown, Esther Miron of Cecilia, and Nancy Conlin of Eastview; 10 nephews, 3 nieces, 8 great nephews, 9 great nieces, 2 great great nephews, 2 great great nieces, and an abundance of friends.
He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, quick wit, good heart, and always willing to help others.
The funeral is Saturday at 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Friday and continues after 12 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
