James Neill Wesson passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 21, 2026, with his devoted wife, Chandra, by his side. He was born on April 10, 1946, in Bellows Falls, Massachusetts, to Verna Elizabeth “Pat” Patterson and Walter Harold Wesson, both deceased.
He was also preceded in death by his beloved brother, Harvey Wesson. He is survived by his wife, Chandra Wesson; his daughter, Stefany Rose Sutterfield; his son, Jeremy James Wesson; his cherished grandchildren; his sister, Linda Leclerc; and several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
A natural leader and lifelong entrepreneur, Jimmy was truly the captain of his own ship. He took over his father’s Wesson’s Diner in South Burlington, Vermont, building it into a thriving business, and later owned Todd’s Seafood and Fish House in Rochester, New Hampshire. He valued his employees and formed lasting relationships with many who worked alongside him. Jimmy loved fishing and spent much of his life on the water, happiest when sharing that time with those he loved. He enjoyed traveling on cruises with Chandra, trading stocks, caring for his condos in New Hampshire, cheering for the Buccaneers and Broncos, and working on puzzles. Above all, he loved being a husband, father and grandfather. He doted on his grandchildren and treasured his family deeply. He wished only to be remembered as the loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend he was. In his honor, please hold your loved ones close and cherish them fully. That is what mattered most to him.
