He was a native of Hardin County and a graduate of Elizabethtown High School. After high school, he worked in the security alarm installation business for many years before becoming an over the road truck driver. He was a Kentucky Colonel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Sr. and Wilma Faye; and two sisters, Tina and Minta Jackson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Lynn; two daughters, Amy (Jon) Henry and Lindsey (Johnnie Merrill) Jackson; four grandchildren, Kylie, Bailey, and Matthew Henry, and Quinn Merrill; two brothers, Vincent and Jamie Jackson; and sister, Kristen Jackson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The funeral is at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at Brown Funeral Home with Brother Craig Perkins officiating.
Burial follows in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025, from 4–8 p.m. and will continue on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 from noon until time of service all at Brown Funeral Home.
