Born in Greenup, KY, Judy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She shared 61 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Larry McKenzie, building a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Judy was a loving mother to Heather Holthouser (Larry) and Josh McKenzie. She was affectionately known as “Nanner” by her five grandchildren—Ashley Yonts (Nick), Cassidy Pendleton (Colton), Hannah Colella (Bryce), Maddie Hill, and Maxwell McKenzie—and by many others whose lives she touched. Her joy multiplied with the arrival of her great-grandchildren, Paisley, Cooper, Jaxon, and Braxton, and she was eagerly awaiting the birth of baby Elena.
She is survived by her brothers, Chris Griffith (Donetta) and Marty Griffith (Kim), as well as her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored. She is reunited in heaven with her beloved parents.
A woman of deep faith, Judy was a dedicated member of College Heights Church, where she found comfort, strength, and a loving community. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, going shopping, and people-watching, always bringing warmth and laughter wherever she went. As an Army wife for 20 years, she supported her husband and family with resilience, grace, and an unshakable love.
Judy’s kindness, laughter, and loving spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at College Heights Church, 710 College Street Rd, Elizabethtown, KY on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at 11am, with visitation beginning on Monday, January 20, 2025 from 5-8pm and Tuesday, January 21, 2025 from 9-11am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Ronald McDonald House of KY in her memory.
May she rest in eternal peace, forever cherished as our beloved Nanner.
