Ryan Len Todd, 65, of Sonora, went to go be with the Lord on July 4, 2025, just 11 months after losing his beloved wife Robin. His family is devastated to lose him, but finds peace in knowing he was a believer in Christ, is reunited with Robin, and rejoicing in heaven. We imagine their reunion in heaven was sweet and probably involved Robin rolling her eyes lovingly while she asked him what he was doing there so soon.
Ryan was born on May 7, 1960 to Mary and Doyle Todd in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Growing up, he played football, baseball, basketball, wrestled, and was notorious for his pranks and mischief, a subject of numerous stories told by friends and family. If you knew Ryan, you had a story… or several.
After Ryan graduated from East Hardin High School in 1978, he married Robin, his high school sweetheart. He went to Hanover College where he studied geology and played football. Ryan and Robin were married for 44 years and built a beautiful life together on their farmland in Sonora. He was an avid pilot, loved riding his motorcycle, and enjoyed coaching his daughters in softball.
Throughout his life, he had his own software company, worked for Hardin County Farm Bureau, the Hardin County PVA, and most recently worked as a database administration contractor for the US Army. At various points,Ryan was a member at Sonora Baptist Church, Memorial United Methodist in Elizabethtown, and Freedom’s Way Church.
Ryan loved his family, countless friends, and his sweet dog Lucy. He was someone you could count on and would give you the shirt off his back, or give you a place to stay if you needed. A man who never met a stranger, Ryan’s voice and presence filled every room—and often the next room over too. He could make friends with anyone, and he knew a lot about a lot of things. We know when he entered heaven was probably the first time he was ever speechless.
Ryan is survived by his oldest daughter Ashley Hughes (husband Adam), youngest daughter Ali Finlay (husband Benet), his four beloved grandchildren: Audrina (11), Hadley (9), Josie (7), and Benet (7); his mother Mary Todd, oldest brother Brad Todd (wife Becky), twin brother Bryan Todd (wife Sandy), younger brother Alex Todd (wife Cathy), mother-in-law and father-in-law Christine and Hansel Wright, several brothers/sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. Ryan was welcomed into heaven by his wife Robin, father Doyle, grandfather June and grandmother Emma Lee, uncle Tom, and many others he loved and missed dearly.
His family will miss his stories, tractor and mule rides around the farm, his ridiculous use of emojis in text conversation, and his big hugs. Ryan will be deeply missed by his family and all those who knew and loved him.
Services will be held at the Brown Funeral Home (Elizabethtown, KY). Visitation is Friday, July 11, from 4 to 8pm; and continues on Saturday at 9am. His funeral service will be on Saturday, July 12, at 11am.
